Happy Tuesday, my fellow golf freak!
I took the past few days to simply slow down, take a step back, and hang by the pool with my family.
One of the reasons I needed a time-out is because the downside of moving 1,000 miles per hour is overwhelm can creep in if you’re not on top of things.
Your body and brain don’t sync up – and you make mistakes.
For example, last Friday I completely lost track of time, missed my workout, then found myself with no focus on my last client before the weekend.
When you feel this happening, take a step back and ruthlessly remove everything that is unnecessary.
Sometimes it’s easy.
Sometimes it’s difficult.
Do you keep restarting a training program that you know you can’t stick to? Or, do you shift and start a more realistic program that may take longer to get results, but you know you can do for the foreseeable future?
We tend to have a very strong resistance to change…especially if it’s something we’ve been doing for a long time.
You become the gambler who won’t leave the roulette wheel, even as the losses pile up.
Your plans won’t always work out. Being fit and truly taking care of yourself is about having the guts to make difficult decisions. You’ll know when it’s the right time to lean into something OR let it go.
Oh yeah, do things that you enjoy doing. If you don’t like jogging, ride your bike. If you don’t like lifting weights, do bodyweight workouts.
Because when you have a strong like for something, the journey seems almost effortless.
Speaking of the journey, it’s time for me to boogie. We have a new line of hats on the way, and we’re finalizing the color schemes.
You’ve got this!
