Happy Wednesday, my fellow golf fitness fanatic.
Today, we’re going to shift gears a bit. I have one of my favorite assignments for you…
…It’s to set a goal bucket list!
Not a life bucket list. But one for the rest of 2022.
And by doing this, it will help you SKYROCKET off the couch.
Here’s the deal:
Your brain is hardwired to like new, fun, and different things.
When you try something new – or take up a new challenge – it fires up the “feel good” part of your brain.
I really dislike jogging. But, for the past three years, I’ve signed up for a grueling 8-mile trail run. Sounds crazy, but the challenge and anticipation even during the training gets my endorphins firing like the 4th of July.
And here’s the magic: Factor “novelty” into your goal equation.
When you do this, it can keep you moving forward and excited about continuing with your goals and healthy habits.
Our co-founder Ryan did a 340-mile paddling race over 77 hours. He’ll be the first to tell you that it was kinda miserable, but he will definitely do it again.
Here are a few ideas of what I’m talking about:
Try hiking if you’ve never done it before – and if you have, what new trail(s) can you conquer?
Join a meathead gym that intimidates you and go for a month
Eat a “Joe Rogan” diet of just fruit and meat for a week or month.
Learn to swim, golf, ski, bodyboard, or how to play tennis
Be able to hold a “real” plank for 1 minute
Be able to do 10 pull-ups
Challenge yourself to one week without any processed food
Do your first marathon
Meditate every day for one month
Eat one raw food meal every day for a month
Do the Daily Motion in our app every day for a month
The list of ideas is endless!
The whole point is to try NEW, FUN things that support a healthy lifestyle.
This is just one thing we work on in the 18STRONG Membership – helping you create meaningful goals…and having fun making them a reality!
Your #1 Fan,
Jeff Pelizzaro
PS – I mentioned it in the list up top, but doing the 5-7 minute Daily Motion (already built-in to your 18STRONG Membership calendar) every day for a month has been the key to unlocking too many of our golfers’ fitness habits to remember. It just works.
It’s kinda like starting a good business – low barrier to entry, and crazy-high upside.
