💪 Are LIV players asking “Why?”

It’s Friday, and before I kick off the weekend with my kids that I feel like I haven’t seen in a year (after 10 days in Europe), please read this important, timely email.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you can’t escape the news of the latest PGA Tour players leaving for the riches of the LIV tour – Bubba being the latest.

And whatever your opinions and beliefs are about the exodus, or what it means for the future of professional golf – the fact is that these guys are leaving so they can play less golf while making more money. Thank you, Pat Perez, for being the only honest one in the group.

Of every successful person I’ve been lucky enough to meet, read about, or listen to in interviews…a total of ZERO have given the advice to chase money. It may fix a lot of problems, but money is never a good “why”.

I have lots of battle scars from my career from having chased money. Fortunately, never enough to put me out on the streets.

It wasn’t until Ryan and I sat down, decided that it ain’t working, and figured out WHY we’re doing this 18STRONG thing.

That was when everything changed for us…figuring out our WHY.

And I’ve seen that same thing happen to countless golfers when they finally got into shape. And continue to stay in shape. Year after year after year. When things get tough, they know their WHY. And keep pushing forward.

So, my question to you is, “What is driving you?”

Why do you want to get into shape?

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, there are wrong answers.

“Because my doctor told me to” may scare you straight for a while, but nobody else can make you want to change.

Don’t BS yourself. Don’t do it because you think it’s the right thing to do. Don’t be afraid to be honest.

Wanting to look good, be in shape, and play your best golf doesn’t require a giant, spiritual contract between you and God.

We’re dudes. We’re pretty simple. We’re not that deep.

If you like the ego boost from turning the pool honeys’ heads. Then use it.

If you like taking $$$ from your buddies on the course. Then use it.

If you like pulling whatever you want from the closet w/o worrying how it’s going to look. Then use it.

Keep it simple. But make it something that will continue to drive you.

For me? I don’t want to be the fat dad. I want to be the in-shape dad that my kids and wife think is awesome.

That’s what keeps me going.

So, tonight when you’re having a few happy hour cocktails and the creative juices are flowing, figure out what will really keep you going. Not just what the world thinks is your reason.

Your #1 Fan,

Jeff Pelizzaro

PS – Once you figure out your WHY, the rest is much easier. Then, all you need is the process to make it happen. And the 18STRONG Membership is sitting on the next page ready to help you do just that.
