💪 Doowutchyalike

If you haven’t noticed yet, it’s Dec. 1st. The beginning of the month. So, if you’re one of those streaky people like me, today is a great day to begin a new habit…

Our co-founder Ryan has vowed to eat ZERO processed food for the entire month of December. And this is the time of year when there is an abundance of it.

So, yesterday we talked about doubling down on your strengths (in everything you do). One of our Crew, Jim sent us this email:

I chose to double down staying focus (and FORGING my way) on my studies. On November 28th, I completed an 18-month process as I passed the 3rd of three FINRA exams necessary to be a licensed institutional investment banker with an international investment banking firm. Long live the Boomers!

Stay confident.

Stay the course.

Stay focused.

Stay 18STRONG.

Obviously, Jim’s strength is the world of high finance. And as miserable as it sounds to me, he keeps leaning into it.

There is a property of skill-development called “dynamic complementarity.”

It means that an investment in growing a skillset you already possess in more productive than an investment in learning a brand-new skill.

In other words, building on an existing skillset produces a higher increase in output.

You get the biggest bang for your buck by honing the skills that you already have.

So, if you are better at chipping than driving, then you should spend your time on chipping. Of course, you need to be adequate off the tee, but improving your chipping is going to lower your scores faster.

If you’re trying to lose fat, and you’re better at lifting weights than running on the treadmill, then spend your time by the dumbbells. You’ll lose fat faster.

Science has basically given us a license to only do the things we’re good at:)

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to catch a plane to attend our good buddy Hayden Buckley’s wedding this weekend.

Your #1 Fan,

Jeff Pelizzaro

PS – We’re not able to do the Live Crew & A call today as I’ll be on a plane heading to HotLanta.

Instead of attending the call today for an hour, I highly encourage you to get in the 18STRONG Membership. Find a program that matches your goals. And start today (it’s still Dec. 1st).
