💪 Double down on your strengths

I know it’s early on Sunday morning, but I wanted to share something really quickly before we run out the door to basketball.

I’m a huge believer in doubling down on your strengths.

Now, let’s take a step back and think about school for a minute…

You can plug in whichever subjects you want, but for the sake of argument, let’s assume you struggled with English, but were awesome at math.

So, what would the teachers do? They would give you more English, of course.

I realize that is just how the [broken] system is designed, but WTF?

That is so friggin’ backwards!

That’s like putting the star QB on the basketball team because he struggles to dribble and shoot.

Nobody in their right mind would do that. Parents would be outside with signs calling for your head.

Common sense tells us that kid’s gift for football needs to be nurtured.

We can all agree on that, but we all fall in the same trap with our exercise.

We decide we’re going to start jogging, but we don’t really like jogging.

Guys who hate lifting weights will decide to start strength training.

Why?

And what I’ve learned throughout the years is you will never win by focusing on your weaknesses.

The great news is that doubling down on your strengths leads to quick wins.

Each win leads to more opportunities for more and more wins.

Obviously, we focus on strength training, but that’s not for everyone.

You just need to do something. Find what you love to do, then double-down.

Get into it.

And once you do, it won’t be work.

You’ll enjoy it. And you’ll do it forever.

Now go find it!

PS – If strength training and playing your best golf is your jam, then I would check out the 18STRONG App

Double-down on it. Find a program you’ll enjoy. Then do it.

You can try it for free for the next 7 days, then it’s just $.54 per day to access to everything.
