💪 Strength training won’t work

It’s Wednesday and I want to give you a short, tactical tip.

While I do love a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich (on rye bread is the best), there is nothing that goes better together than strength and mobility.

They go hand in hand. Strength without mobility ain’t no dang good for your swing.

Think about the meathead guy in the gym who can’t put his arms next to his side because he’s so bulked-up. That dude can throw a ton of weight around. BUT, and here’s your epiphany for the day:

All of the strength in the world means nothing if you can’t get your body in a position to swing a golf club.

That guy has a different goal in the gym. So, his strategy is going to destroy his swing.

And I know what you’re thinking, bro. The reason you don’t strength train is because you don’t want to get too bulky.

Unless you are consuming an alarming number of calories each day and specifically training for bulk (see: Bryson DeChambeau), it ain’t gonna happen.

Do you know who relies heavily on strength training to play their best?

Justin Thomas…not bulky. John Rahm…not bulky. DJ…not bulky. And just about every other professional golfer alive!

If that isn’t enough proof that strength training is really, really great for your game, then I can’t help you.

And speaking of strength training, if you haven’t yet, be sure to join the 18STRONG Membership to get instant access to ALL of our training programs.

Gotta run. Lots of golfers’ lives to change and so little time:)

PS – Hmmm…now that I’m thinking about strength and mobility, we’re going to go deep in the weeds tomorrow on the Live Crew & A call – look for the Zoom link tomorrow.

In the meantime, your 18STRONG Membership account is waiting for you.
