💪 The startling fitness secret of a professional partier.

It’s Saturday morning, I’m enjoying my coffee, and boy we’ve got a busy day today.

Just when the kids’ soccer ends, basketball and indoor soccer begin. I love it and wouldn’t change a thing, but it’ll be nice to get a break in 20 years:)

So, this past Tuesday evening, it was after dark, and I was walking the dog around a lake at one of the local parks when I ran into a good buddy of mine, Mike – excellent golfer.

Our kids go to the same school and are in the same class, which is how we met.

He’s 55, so he’s a little older than me, but he’s equally as immature, so we get along great.

I asked him what he was up to, and he had dropped his son, also Michael, at soccer practice at the park, so he took the opportunity to get in a 3.7 mile walk around the lake loop while the boys were training.

At the time, I didn’t think anything of it, but then I realized something yesterday.

Mike has a job that requires him to wine and dine customers all week. When they come to town, they’re on vacation. And he’s gotta be on vacation with them.

He eats like a king. Drinks like a fish. And stays out until ungodly hours.

But, he’s still in good shape.

And that’s what I realized.

The reason he doesn’t weight 500 lbs is because he finds the time to walk the lake. Or go to the Y in between power lunches and dinners. Or walk 3-5 holes at the club whenever he has an hour or so.

He’s become a master of un-compromising his physical activity time…and it shows.

Did I mention his wife is 10 years younger than he is, and not too bad on the eyes? He better be in shape if he wants to keep up.

Now, I’m not using Mike as model of health. I’ve had beers with him many times. He is not.

However, we can all learn a lesson from him that we can’t continue to drop our health and fitness to the bottom of our To Do list.

And the longer we keep putting it off, the more difficult it is to get it back.

You’ve got this.
