How to cure stiffness like the pros

PSA: Today is Valentine’s Day. If you and the one you love are into it, you’ve officially been reminded.

So, now that the dust has settled on the Super Bowl, I revisited what football players do the day after games.

Now, if you haven’t been to a game up close, you really don’t get a clear understanding of the absolute beating these guys take.

The sound of the pads smashing against each other is violent and alarming.

And they do it every week!

I assumed these guys did some active recovery like walking, light swimming, or something just get their bodies moving while they watched game film.

Nope.

These animals put in a full-blown weight training session.

They ignore soreness and stiffness.

And push through – almost like they’re getting paid truckloads of $$$ to do it:)

Stiff is the state of how I see the majority of golfers who first walk into the gym.

Even the guys who are clearly in shape still move like s***.

We all assume because they are fit that they are mobile.

Wrong.

John Daly’s fitness is a complete trainwreck, but that dude moves like he’s made out of rubber.

To be fair, JD is a natural athletic freak.

So, he’s an extreme example.

But, for most of us “garden-variety” athletes, we have to work to stay loose.

And if you’re one of those golfers who needs some mobility love, there are a few things you can do.

Here’s where I would start…

And here’s what NFL players do…

…they grease their joints.

There’s synovial fluid in your joints that we have to get to the right places.

And the best way to do that is about as simple as it gets…

MOVE!

Move your shoulders.

Move your hips.

Move your neck.

Move your trunk….

Get the “grease” moving all around your joints – just like lubing the engine in your car.

For golfers, I can think of no better way to do that than by following the Daily Motion EFD routine in the 18STRONG Membership.

It only takes 5-8 minutes, and you’ll usually see noticeable results in about a week.

And by the time The Masters rolls around in April this year, you’ll REALLY notice how loose and free your swing feels.

STAY STRONG,

Jeff

PS – The Daily Motion EFD mobility program is already installed on your calendar when you join the 18STRONG Membership.

Click on it, and I’ll walk you through the exact 7-ish minute routine our best golfers do every day.

I’ve said it a million times…if you could only do ONE thing to improve your game, that’s what I would do.
