This morning for our Mandatory Golf Friday round, we got on the subject of wildly successful businessmen who we didn’t realize got started later in life… Ray Kroc was 52 when he started McDonald’s. Colonel Sanders started KFC when he was 65. Henry Ford didn’t implement the assembly line until he was in his 50s. So, that got us thinking, who are some “late bloomers” in the fitness world (I had to ChatGPT the answer when I got back:)… Samuel L. Jackson started pumping iron and changed his health in his 60s to prep for action roles. Ernestine Shepherd didn’t touch a dumbbell until she was 56. By 71, she was a world-record-holding bodybuilder—and at 86, she still trains daily. Sister Madonna Buder, a Catholic nun, became the oldest person to finish an Ironman triathlon—at age 82. Think it’s too late to get into shape? Think again. You’re more than a number or birth date. Your timeline isn’t someone else’s to dictate. What matters is that you keep going until you get to where you want to go. That’s it. STAY STRONG, Jeff PS – If you’re letting “them” tell you you’re too old, and you want to change your fitness (and life), then step 1 is to join us in the 18STRONG Membership. We’re here to help and prove the status quo wrong. |
