It’s Sunday night and I’m excited to get the week started again. That wasn’t always the case, so that means I must really love what I do.
Earlier in the week, I was listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast (as I often do). His guest was Sanjay Gupta, the medical advisor for CNN.
Not surprisingly, the discussion quickly turned to all-things-covid.
The entire conversation was very interesting, but there were no big surprises. The doctor from CNN wants everyone to get vaccinated. Joe Rogan believes everyone should weigh their own risk. Again, what we’d all expect.
However, Joe Rogan made a really, really great observation. And it’s something that we’re bad at doing here at 18STRONG.
They were talking about people who had the ‘vid, but didn’t know it. Not young people without symptoms, but adults who knew they felt bad, but didn’t realize what it was.
I’m paraphrasing, but Joe Rogan’s theory is that so many people don’t know they had it because they never feel great.
They’re not healthy, and they don’t know their bodies. So, feeling a little off, sluggish and crappy is very normal to them.
I think he’s right.
Around here, we talk about all the wonderful things that getting into shape does for our golf, health and happiness, but we never really talk about how great you feel day-to-day.
And I’m not sure how to get that point across.
Our co-founder Ryan may have put it best…
Years ago, he was 30 lbs overweight, and he said it felt like he was hungover all the time.
Not only that, he told me the emotional toll of squeezing into blue jeans and looking at pictures of himself was exhausting. “Thank god there were no camera phones back then.”
Thankfully, he’s a success story, not a cautionary tale. I’m not sure he consciously realizes it, but I think that’s why he works so hard to grow 18STRONG – he wants to help other guys transform themselves like he did.
I hate to use a cliché, but if you’re sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all of the time, then I would start with Golf Body Blueprint – Activate.
It’s our beginner program for golfers who haven’t been in the gym in at least 6 months.
Don’t let the “beginner” fool you.
You will be challenged.
You’ll also quickly see results.
You’d be surprised how just moving everyday will make you feel great.
You can do this.
