First step toward consistency

Happy Monday, my fellow golf extremist!

Did you know we are only nine short days away from Full Swing, the behind-the-scenes of the PGA Tour docu-series on Netflix? And right smack dab in the middle of all of the LIV Tour stuff…forget about it.

On Friday, I wrote about “changing directions”. And how you won’t get anywhere if that is what you keep doing.

The point was that everything you want is on the other side of consistency. Consistency works.

If you keep doing the right things most of the time, you’ll win.

If you keep doing the wrong things most of the time, you’ll lose.

The golfer who eats clean and healthy 80-90% of the time will maintain his ideal weight and have lots of energy.

The golfer who eats like a garbage can 80-90% of the time will maintain his big ol’ gut and feel how he looks.

So, the first step in being consistent to get yourself moving in a positive direction is ONE thing:

Make a decision.

It doesn’t matter if you decide to take up jogging. If you decide to lift weights. If you decide to eat a keto diet.

It doesn’t matter.

Here’s what matters:

Decisions are a form of progress – You’ll move faster when you decide faster.

So, instead of spending a bunch of time researching and asking around…just decide.

Warning: If you are making a massive decision that can’t easily be reversed, take extra time.

BUT, we’re talking about golf and fitness. Not whether or not you should join the Army.

Monday is a great day to finally make a decision. Then, stick to it!

In the 18STRONG Membership, there is a program for golfers who want to lose fat. Golfers who want a new workout plan each month. Golfers who haven’t seen the inside of the gym ever. Golfers who were born with dumbbells in their hands…

And everything in between.

You’ve got this!
