|It’s March, so happy Vasectomy Month!|
No kidding. That’s really a thing, and we’ve got college basketball to “thank”.
March Madness is a great time to re-acquaint yourself with the couch, especially during the first few rounds when you can watch basketball from sunup until sundown. So, it’s the perfect time to recover from the snip-snip.
Now, before you go out and buy frozen peas for your recovery, let’s get back into yesterday’s topic…
I can make the argument that there is never a bad time to start stacking your fitness behaviors. BUT, March may be the perfect month to do so.
If you’re unfamiliar, habit stacking is the practice of linking multiple habits together to create a routine that becomes second nature.
You can do it for any behavior you’d like to start or quit.
So, here is why March 1 is the ideal time to start habit stacking your fitness behaviors:
The weather is getting warmer: As the winter months come to an end, it’s easier to go outside and get some exercise. I love lifting in the gym, but outdoor activities are the best!
The start of the month is a natural reset: The beginning of a new month is often associated with fresh starts and new beginnings. It’s the perfect time to wipe the slate clean, and off on a good foot.
It’s the calm before the storm: By starting your habit stacking routine on March 1, you’ll have an entire month to build momentum. And create a consistent routine before the arrival of the busier spring and summer months.
Just remember to start with small changes. Too much too fast is a perfect recipe for failure.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a new habit to stack on my routine – not sure what it is yet, but I think it’s going to be putting-related. Stay tuned…
Your #1 Fan,
PS – I know it’s not sexy to talk about gradual changes that stick. We all want the overnight win.
BUT, how well is that working for you? I’m telling you, the long-game freakin’ works.
