Yesterday, I was talking to a buddy who is doing some marketing consulting work for a small tech company. And it’s not going well.
He told me, “They over-complicate everything and they don’t listen!”
The owner of the company insists on elaborate marketing campaigns that take forever to build, wants to know every single metric, wants to edit and re-edit every word written.
And then gets upset the needle isn’t moving because they keep starting and re-starting.
And I constantly see that in my world.
Here’s how the story goes: A golfer walks into the gym. He recently read an article in Golf Digest or watched a YouTube video about [insert desired outcome]. He’s convinced it’s going to change his life, so wants to focus on it.
