Yesterday, I wrote about the freedom of working out “on your terms”.
You decide:
When.
Where.
How.
And our #1 tool to make those workouts super-effective is, drum roll please…
The resistance band.
Now, the much younger version of me used to think that resistance bands were a decent gift you could pick up from Target. My secret Santa would maybe use them a few times, then they would start collecting dust in the basement.
They were too convenient to work, right?
In other words, they weren’t for people who really worked out.
I could not have been more wrong.
Resistance bands are gold, Jerry. Gold.
We all understand the convenience and portability. But, putting on my trainer hat, they have crazy advantages over traditional weights that solely rely on gravity:
Dynamic Muscle Activation: Unlike static weights, resistance bands provide tension throughout the entire range of motion, which means we are forced to control the resistance better, and a better, more efficient, rep tends to happen.
Speed and Power: Bands are excellent for training fast-twitch muscle fibers, which leads to explosive power in our swings.
Adaptive Resistance: As we stretch the band, the resistance increases, which allows us to challenge ourselves on each rep.
Don’t get me wrong. I love static weights. And they are irreplaceable.
But, they do have limitations – to be fair, so do resistance bands.
In a perfect world, we mix both into our workouts…
…exactly what we do with our golfers in the gym.
However, if you are short on time, you can basically carry your gym with you. And use it when you can.
If you’re not sure exactly how to use your resistance bands to get a great, full-body workout for golfers, then we’ve got you covered in the Golf Body Blueprint – Anywhereprogram.
It’s designed for golfers who prefer (are forced) to work out at home, on the road or anywhere they literally have a 5’X5′ area.
Your #1 Fan,
Jeff Pelizzaro
PS – In an effort to get as many golfers off the couch and moving, we lowered the price.
Hopefully, saving enough to buy a box of Pro V1s will get enough moving. Then, once you’re in motion…the sky is the limit.
