I read this morning that Elon Musk is now worth $400 billion, which makes him the richest man in the world (if we’re not counting royalty or oligarchs:).
Do you know the difference between a million and a billion?
If you didn’t sleep and counted one number every second, it would take you 12 days to count to a million.
If you did the same with a billion, it would take you 31 years!
The difference is outrageous.
Here’s why I mention it…
The dieting industry is now worth $300+ billion.
So, it would take you around 9,300 years to count every dollar that industry makes every year (and it’s growing).
And if we’re spending that much, it must be working, right?
Not even close.
Especially in the U.S., the population continues to get fatter and fatter every year.
The reason?
We’re buying s*** that doesn’t work!
Diets don’t work because we are being set up to fail.
And it’s a near-perfect business model.
You buy a diet book, training, coach, etc. and lose weight quickly.
Great, right?
Next, the truth is revelated.
You find out that the diet is impossible to stick to, so you eventually quit and blame yourself a lack of willpower and discipline.
Then, the cycle repeats over and over.
“They” have bastardized the word “diet”.
And we need to take it back.
A diet was never meant to be a restrictive plan for weight loss.
A diet is simply what you are habitually eating and drinking.
That’s it.
Now, the most important word above is HABITUALLY.
The best thing we can do is completely eliminate the 30, 90, or 120-day fad diets.
