Yesterday, my son found his way on to my wife’s yoga mat and was talking tough about how flexible he is. He is not. But what he lacks in flexibility, he more than makes up for in confidence. So, let’s get into stretching. We know we’re supposed to do it. That’s what we were always taught. From the time we were little kids playing sports to the last time we teed off. And stretching is great…except it isn’t. It’s kinda like shoveling your driveway in the middle of a snowstorm. You put in the work. You physically feel great. You mentally feel great. Then you turn around. And the damn driveway is covered again! All that work for nothing. Stretching is a short-term “fix”. Years ago, I would take my clients through the most elaborate stretching routines I could think up. And my clients felt great when they walked over to the hitting net. BUT the problem was that by our next session, none of the work had lasted. We were constantly starting at zero. So, I had to re-evaluate what we were doing in the gym – like I hope you’re doing right now. Here’s when we started seeing leaps and bounds of results: We stopped focusing on the fleeting feeling of “nice and loose”. Instead, we focused on improving our body’s mobility (hips, ankles, shoulders, etc.)…and feeling strong and confident with our range of motion. And that ONLY happens when you teach your body to ACTIVELY control your new ROM. In this video, I’m going to show you ONE SIMPLE way to:Increase your range of motionKeep it so you feel warmed-up 24/7Those are two pretty solid things, yeah? Alright, let’s get to it! STAY STRONG, Jeff PS – Stretching is kinda like a band-aid for mobility. It’s a temporary fix, but doesn’t last. Today, let’s stop screwing around. And wasting time on things that don’t last.
