taking back the “D” word

“People often think that they lack motivation when it comes to forming new habits, but what they really lack is clarity.”

True words spoken by BJ Fogg, the Founder of the Behavior Design Lab at Stanford.

And when it comes to the excessive information about “dieting” (I hate what “they” have done to that word), it’s easy to see why there is a lack of clarity.

We are literally told the opposite thing to do:

Low-Fat vs. High-Fat (Keto)

Plant-Based vs. Carnivore

Calorie Counting vs. Intuitive Eating (listen to your body’s cues)

The sheer volume of contradictory information on the internet will make your head explode.

It’s kinda like if you wanted to know the best way to put out your house on fire. Website A says to throw water on it. But, Website B says let it burn itself out – if it was meant to burn your house down, I guess that’s god’s way.

Compounded by the fact that the diet industry is worth $250B, what chance do we all have?

By the way, the industry is worth more than it has ever been and growing…and yet, the population is more overweight than ever, and also growing.

So, what’s the disconnect?

“Diets” are BS.

THAT is the disconnect.

A diet is not a restrictive way of eating.

It’s not something you do for 30, 60 or 90 days.

It’s not a fad or miracle.

A diet is just what you eat and drink on a regular basis. That’s it!

Soooo, if you need to lose fat (fat, not weight), how can you break out of the yo-yo cycle?

Habits. Habits. Habits. One-at-a-time habits.

Unlike the fad-diet-of-the-day, you ease yourself into healthy, lasting changes that magically turn into unconscious habits.

The other option – which, if you’re like me, have already been down the road – is making drastic, unsustainable changes.
