Top 5 benefits of creatine for lunatic golfers…

It was nice to see Scottie and Rory representin’ yesterday as they took care of Koepka and DeChambeau.

I wish the match would have been on a weekend so we could have made more of an event out of it.

There’s not a lot about a Tuesday night that gets guys motivated to hit the sports bar.

Anyway, all week we’ve been talking about creatine.

What is it?

What does it do?

How to produce more?

Today, it’s all about how creatine specifically helps us lunatic golfers.

After a ton of rabbit hole searching, here are my top 5:

1. Increased Power and Strength

Creatine improves the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the body’s primary energy source during short bursts of intense activity (like a golf swing). This can translate to more explosive power during the swing, helping golfers hit the ball farther and with more control.

Who doesn’t want more distance?

2. Enhanced Muscular Endurance

Creatine supports improved muscular endurance, allowing golfers to maintain optimal performance throughout an 18-hole round or long sessions on the range.

Fatigue often sets in during the latter stages of a round, especially during the summer. So, the better our endurance, the better our finishing holes.

3. Better Cognitive Function

I ran across a couple of studies that creatine can enhance cognitive performance, particularly in tasks requiring focus and decision-making.

As we know, golf is a mentally demanding sport. Enhanced focus, better decision-making, and reduced mental fatigue can improve scores.

4. Injury Prevention

Stronger, more resilient muscles can help stabilize joints and reduce the risk of common golf-related injuries, such as lower back pain or shoulder strain.

Our goal is to stay on the course for a very long time. And this helps.

5. Hydration

Creatine promotes water retention within muscle cells, which can help maintain hydration levels during long rounds in hot weather.

Of course, hydration is crucial for maintaining energy levels, focus, and performance during extended play in varying conditions.

Basically, all of that stacks up to give us better rounds.

It’s kinda like having more energy and feeling stronger while you’re working out…only you feel that way during your round.

That’s been my experience, anyway.

Tomorrow, we’re going to shift gears a little as we’re approaching the New Year and things get crazy.

STAY STRONG,

Jeff

PS – Whilst (yup, that’s my fancy word) learning about creatine, I found out that it is the most scientifically researched supplement.

So, we can all rest assured it’s safe.

If you’re curious which supplement I take/recommend, it’s the 1stPhorm Creatine.

I’m sure it’s also the least expensive supplement I take – $32 for 100 servings, so it’s basically 30 cents per day and lasts for a fiscal quarter (man, maybe I should get a job at 1stPhorm:).
