Triggering momentum

Finally, we’re less than 24 hours away from the Ryder Cup! Vegas has the USA slightly favored, but man, the dirty Euros (“dirty” only for this weekend:) are a good-lookin’ squad of stud golfers.

It’s gonna be a fun weekend of golf.

Speaking of weekends, just before the summer started, I spent a weekend at my cousin’s lake house helping him move 7 tons of sand from the top of the driveway down to his beach area.

It sounds a little crazy, but I like that kinda thing. It’s good exercise. We get to hang out with friends and family. And we get to drink cold beers at the end of a hard day’s work.

Here’s how it went:

Shovel sand into the wheelbarrow at the top of driveway.

Walk it down the hill.

Dump it over the retaining wall onto the beach (where other “volunteers” were waiting to spread it around).

Push the empty wheelbarrow back up the 20-yd-long hill.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat…

Now that I’m writing this, it really wasn’t fun:)

So, once you got the wheelbarrow out of the sand pile and pointed down the hill, gravity did most of the work for you…

…until too much momentum took over, and you got up to a critical speed where it was out of control.

And then it rained…

…and s*** got really interesting.

BUT, for the first 10-15 yards moving down the hill, the job was easy.

It was easy because we had momentum.

And when we’re starting anything – like a new training program, it’s important get over that first hurdle and get momentum working for you.

For sure, there’s an initial resistance – a voice in your head telling you, “Nah, we’ll do it tomorrow.”

That guy is a real a$$hole sometimes.

But what that guy doesn’t know is that once we overcome the initial resistance and start the fitness journey, keeping that momentum becomes exponentially easier – just like putting that wheelbarrow in motion.

And just like that wheelbarrow, once we’re in motion, we don’t want to stop. Which means long-term success.

Getting that momentum started is what the Activate training program is all about. It’s for 45+ golfers who haven’t been in the gym for a minute and need a step-by-step program to get the ball rolling…

In the program, you’ll build a strong foundation that helps unlock all those golf things we want: distance, power, mobility, injury-prevention, etc…and keeps your momentum moving so you get better every single day.

I’ve been doing this for 16 or 17 years now and getting into shape ALWAYS starts with one first step.
So, let’s STOP over-thinking, over-planning, and simply START.

You’ve got this.

Alright, by the time we talk again, the Ryder Cup will be underway, so…

Go USA!!!

Jeff Pelizzaro

PS – To help put you in motion (and more importantly, stay in motion) we’ve reduced the price of the Activate program from $97 to $67 until Sunday night at 11:59p, so if you’re ready to get the party started, there’s no time like the present.
