We’re over-complicating it.

After years of working with golfers, here’s one constant I’ve learned…

I know you’re over-complicating things.

The reason I know that?

Everybody does it.

Including me, the trainer who does this for a living.

Today, let’s take a step back and tattoo this on our foreheads:

Simple, Not Easy.

Sooo many fitness companies create unnecessary problems to sell us complicated solutions.

“Don’t ever eat this ingredient.

Balance your gut biome.

Do this complicated workout.

Buy this expensive mattress.

Only eat between 12:06 am CST and 9:13 pm EST.”

Good luck keeping up with all of that.

Here’s our friendly reminder to ourselves today to go hard in the paint towards simplicity:

  • Eat the right number of calories for your weight goal.
  • Eat protein, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Strength train 2-3x per week.
  • Go for walks.
  • Turn off the boob tube and go to sleep.

Do the simple things 80-90% of the time, and we can’t lose.

Ask ourselves, “What part of our journey are we currently over-complicating, and how can we simplify it TODAY?”

Lately, I’ve been a little too focused on my macros (protein, fat, calories, and carbs).

It doesn’t sound like a problem, but what happens is I’ll be out somewhere, not get enough of something (usually calories), then be starving the next day.

Of course, we all overeat when we’re starving.

I’m going to be a little more flexible with my macros so I don’t ultimately end of over-indulging.

What about you?

STAY STRONG,

Jeff
