Why you’ll never drive a Ferrari…

On Monday, I got this message from Mark H.  For the record, “H.” is not his full last name.  He doesn’t have the worst rapper name of all time.

I listened to your interview with Ronnie and yeah, I was settling.  Not ok.  Hit the gym and started the Sept program today.  And will continue tomorrow.  One day at a time.

So, he was talking about the show we did with Ronnie Doss, “America’s #1 Teamwork & Performance Specialist.”  It was a really fun episode and we learned a lot.

Like Mark, it got me thinking about whether or not I was settling.  Just to use golf as an example…I’d be full of s*** if I said I wasn’t.

Sure, I hit balls here at the gym when I’ve got a few minutes, but I don’t really practice.  You won’t see me at the range very often.  My time on the practice green consists of five minutes before my round.  My chipping sessions are at family parties to see who can hit it closest to the lawn chair across the yard.

Now, I absolutely WANT to get better at golf.  But I realized that I’m not fully COMMITTED to getting better at golf.

How many guys dream about driving around in a shiny, new, red Ferrari? We say we want it, but we’re not committed to it.  Otherwise, we’d have it.

And that’s the difference.  We don’t get what we want, we get what we’re committed to.

We shouldn’t beat ourselves up either.  There are things in our lives that we are 100% committed to, and that’s why we have them.  I’d bet you’re committed to your family, friends, business, and being a good human being.  That’s why those are all positive in your world.

When I think about specifics, I’m committed to helping golfers get fit and play their best golf.  That’s why 18STRONG works.  I’m committed to a fun, healthy lifestyle – that’s why I can have pizza and cold suds, but my pants still fit.

My question for you this afternoon…are you really committed to what you want?

If so, what are you doing about it?

Your #1 Fan,

Jeff Pelizzaro

PS – When you decide to commit to your fitness and playing your best golf, we’ve got you covered.  I’d suggest joining the 18STRONG Membership App for a lot of reasons, but one we don’t advertise in particular is huge:

Once you join, the first thing that’s going to happen is our Co-Founder Ryan is going to personally reach out to you to discuss your goals, and together, we’ll help put a plan together to reach them.

Some guys will use the 7-day free trial to get that knowledge and cancel.  And that’s fine – it’s part of the business.  But I can promise you this, those guys are not committed, so they won’t get what they want.
