đź’Ş 3 little words…

It’s a grey, rainy Tuesday here in St. Louis, but it’s bright and energetic in the gym this morning.

And a lot of it has to do with three little words I had forgotten about for years. Thankfully, I was reminded last week on our Live Q&A call.

So, we were finally able to secure my boy, Tony Soiab. And get him on the call. He is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever known when it comes to building training programs.

The original Golf Body Blueprint and subsequent programs could not exist without his expertise.

He’s one of those guys who sees something interesting, then dives into the deep end so he can learn everything about it.

Two years ago, he watched an arm-wrestling tournament. On a whim, he decided, “Yeah, I’m gonna do that.” He had no experience. No idea what he was doing. Found a local guy on Facebook. And has been going to his garage to train every week since.

Fast forward to today…he’s the Missouri champ. And heading to Vegas next week to compete in the World Armwrestling League Championships.

And don’t get me started about his deep dive into chess.

Bottom line, he’s a very smart dude who, as far as I can tell, has 100% retention when he reads something.

So, on last week’s call, we had a lot of great questions about nutrition, golfer’s elbow, building muscle, etc. We got pretty deep in the weeds about training techniques when Tony reeled it in. And dropped a truth bomb.

Working out and getting fit is…

SIMPLE, NOT EASY

Boom!

Think about running a marathon…you run in a straight line for 26.2 miles. It’s super simple, but it’s not easy.

Doing a 500 lb squat is just as simple as a 10 lb squat. But it ain’t easy.

Making square contact with a golf ball is simple. But we all know it’s not easy.

We tend to conflate simple and easy. And that’s where we run into trouble.

How many times have you heard me talk about keeping it simple? Now, I realize that may be contributing to guys who are unrealistic about their expectations.

So, please let me clarify. What we teach. How we train. And our ultimate goal is simplicity.

BUT, getting into shape is NOT easy.

This is kinda my Good Will Hunting moment. It’s not easy. No really, it’s not easy. You’re not hearing me…it’s not easy.

Let go of all of that pressure you’re putting on yourself.

And just let it happen.

You’ve got this.

Your #1 Fan,

Jeff Pelizzaro

PS – Each and every training program in the 18STRONG App is built to be as simple as possible.

Guys on tour need to work on the last 1%. Not you. Not me. Not the best non-tour golfer you know. Now, get out there and keep it simple.

We’re here to help.
