View in Web Browser4.5 mile trail hike with our bags. 18 holes walking. 40 degrees. 28,000 steps. Lots of misread distances That is how a small group of us spent last Saturday. We’ve been talking about Hyper-Elastic Distance all week, so let’s take a step back and remember why us golfers want to stay fit. When I threw out the insane idea of doing a “Hike & Hack”, I got two answers from our St. Louis crowd: 1. Hell yeah! 2. That’s too far. And as Ryan (our co-founder) and I were walking the trail, we kept looking at our group and saying, “These are our 18STRONG guys.” Not a one of these guys had to think twice about whether or not they could make it. They all keep themselves in shape where 28,000 steps with a golf bag strapped on your back is a challenge, but not a deal breaker. If someone offered you an all-expenses paid trip to Bandon Dunes tomorrow for three days of world-class golf, could you do it? Or, would the mandatory walking keep you at home? And maybe you’re not there yet. We’re all at a different place. No big deal. We’ve always got your back. I just wanted to share the epiphany we had on the trail. And how free-ing it is to pick up, not think twice, and do something physical that makes ZERO sense:) Oh, and don’t forget to celebrate the wins… STAY STRONG, Jeff PS – We would love to hear about any golf and fitness challenges you’ve done or been thinking about. Please reply with your lunacy, and we may make it a thing. |
