MOVING BETTER EVERYDAY

I started GBB at the end of the golf season, so I can’t truly comment on how my golf game has changed. I’ve got hints of positive change based on time in a simulator, but time will tell. That said, I can do a quick 5-10 min warm up, and I feel like I’m making effortless power from the start, as opposed to needing 3-4 holes to warm up and get loose. I feel loose and ready to go all the time now.

Aside from golf, I’m much more comfortable at work, which often means being on my feet and constantly moving for my workday. I don’t feel the need to take little stretch breaks and I don’t notice all these little aches and twinges all over my body like I was a few moths ago. So for me, as a 45 yo man trying to hang on to some semblance of youth, I just feel like I’m moving better every day, and moving more comfortably. If my swing speed increases a little bit, that’s just gravy!

FEEL THE DIFFERENCE IN JUST 1 WEEK

Some background: I used to be a very active athlete in hockey, baseball, softball and bowling, but after having two kids, several jobs and life interfering have fallen to just weekly bowling (at a pretty high level) and softball in the summer.

Well, this winter I realized I was carrying around too much weight and feeling bad because of it. I had lost mobility from baseball, my bowling game was stiffer than I'd like and I really wanted to get into golf more seriously.

I picked up an Orange Whip to start working on my swing and ran into your interval training video with the orange whip. That lead me to your website and your workout routines.

The best part about this workout is that I can do it in my garage with the equipment I already had. In a week of just doing the mobility and stretches I can feel the difference, and I"m down 10 lbs (Full disclosure, I've been modifying my diet as well.)

I think you provide all of the materials that I need to get back into the swing of things and most importantly, just tell me how to do it. Do these exercises on this day, these exercises on this day and rest here and all I have to do is follow the checklists.

Since I also have pretty bad arthritis in my knees (and have since I was 16) I find that the majority of the exercises are low impact and are not putting overt strain on my knees while helping to isolate and strengthen the muscles around them.

Thanks for this, it's totally worth the value I'm paying right now.

LOST 7LBS SO FAR

A little delayed feedback on the Golf Body Blueprint. Finished the 8 weeks- challenging but very good experience. Dropped 7 pounds with adhering to the nutritional changes made and gained over 12 mph club head speed-now to find time to put that on the course!!

FEELING STRONGER

To me golf fitness is about feeling stronger and more mobile than I would if I didn't work out regularly. That means my golf swing feels fluid, and I can swing as hard as I want without pain or fear of injuring myself. I'm not stiff and sore after I play or practice. In addition, it means my energy level is consistently high and my stamina sustains that energy during a four hour round and when I play on consecutive days. Being fit makes me feel like I have an edge over other players at my skill level. Finally, I sleep better and feel better on and off the course!

So far, the program has challenged me in different ways than I have ever trained. My foot pain has practically diminished. A little suggestion on how to keep this pain away would be wonderful! 1ST DAY OF GOLF BODY BLUEPRINT

Jeff, Today was my first day of the Golf Body Blueprint. I really enjoy the look of the program, and had a great workout this morning! The daily movement I feel is huge for success, priming the body is key everyday to getting better physically. I've been doing something like the daily movement routine for about 8 months now, but your movement routine has installed confidence in me, because my former routine was something I put together myself with only my own expertise (which isn't a lot).

FEELING STRONGER

I'm glad to be a new member to 18Strong Elite with the goal to strengthen & increase speed!

Prior to Elite Membership, I completed the Activate program (2 cycles of the 8 week) to reacquaint myself with strength training after a prolonged focus on flexibility and cardio. I already feel stronger,have improved mobility, especially my historically problematic left shoulder.

I also regularly use the Warm-Up program (20 min pre-course warm-up) and have noticed better body rediness at the golf course.

Based on those positive experiences, I'm ready to further challenge myself with the GBB program and "felt the burn" of the plank rotations during my first workout yesterday.

AMAZING!

Reality check here…I’m 45 and was at least 15 lbs overweight prior to starting the program.

The last time on a Trackman (in September) my driver SS was 98-103. Doing the GBB program, on my fifth week and I bought SS Sticks and radar. Third overspeed session today and my end of session real driver swing speed on the little radar jumped to 113! A few of my light/green SS swings were over 120…Granted, I’m swinging out of my shoes and no idea I’d even hit the ball with the club face with some of these swings, but still that’s amazing.

FEELING 20 YEARS YOUNGER

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for making me feel 20 years younger! Not only is my golf game getting better, but my mobility and strength is better than it has been in 20+ years.

After several months working with your programs and doing the Daily Motion (almost daily) I put my "new self" to the test this past weekend.

I hadn't been on a golf trip in 15 years. The thought of playing 36 holes, back to back, for a couple of days had this 56 year old very nervous. I am happy to say that I felt great through the entire weekend!!!

I got on that plane yesterday afternoon, 5 rounds done, with NO aches, NO pains and feeling pretty limber. I couldn't believe the difference!!!!

Mobility Works!

Just dropping a note about the Hyper Elastic Mobility program. Just into the 3rd day but I can honestly say my ankles, knees and hips feel better. I regularly do weight lifting and your other golf exercise program BUT I can feel even more work at my joints so far with this program.

As a former 314 guy for 25 years we moved to the Atlanta area and North Myrtle Beach, I wanted to say thank you for your podcast. I made a lifestyle change 4 1/2 years ago weighing 266 lbs and could feel a second heart attack coming. DROPPED FROM 90S TO 80S

I have been enjoying all the different interviews you conduct with the different trainers. Listening resulted in a collection of tidbits that played a role in my improvement.

With so much mis-information about fitness out there, the more I can learn and be able to explain to our team…the better.

I have had a couple substantial injuries from my football days long ago and learned that, in defensively dealing with those injuries, my body probably throttled back my speed involuntarily. So, in my pre-shot routine (and on the range) I started to swing very fast to try to fire up those synapses.

I adjusted my gym time - taking some of the heavy lifting (keeping dead lift - love it) time and incorporating lateral jumps, deep light lunges, more core work. Oh- also thanks to your podcast I really started to pay more attention to my nutrition/hydration while playing. Big difference.

I started a swing rebuild with a local instructor this year. My son (12) is taking a series of lessons with me. That, and some study of golf swings was the foundation. Love the swings of Koepka and Justin Thomas. At the beginning of the year, during a fitting session with a trackman, I had a driver speed of 96. Using math I think I learned on your show (2.75 x Velocity) I'm clearly moving the club faster now. A year ago I was shooting mid/low 90s and am now close to breaking 80. Huge transition.

CHANGED MY LIFE

One of the MANY things that has changed in my life since starting Golf Body Blueprint is my drives on the 9th hole. It’s an uphill par 4, and for the last few years, I have not been able to get to the 150 yard marker. Yesterday I had 135 to the middle of the green!

With Golf Body Blueprint, I feel better, I have more energy, and I feel more confident.

In the past, I never had the motivation to workout. Some days I still don’t, but I do it anyway because I love the results.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK

I’m a 58 year old guy and I’ve been following along for a couple of years now and was just thinking of my recent fitness journey and the role 18Strong has played. I was a pretty good golfer (hcp – 4) back in my 20’s but got burnt out. I decided to take a break to explore other outdoor fun activities. Well, then I met my wife, had 2 kids and my “break” turned into 2 decades w/o golf. I was in OK shape due to my bike commuting (9 miles each way for 15-20 years) but never did any weight training and pretty much was in pain when I did anything active other than ride my bike. It was about 5 years ago when I decided to pickup golf again and started venturing out w/ the dew-sweepers which would allow me to get home for family activities on the weekends. One day I got paired w/ an older gentleman (60ish) who was playing really well which inspired me to consider what it would take to get back to my previous form.

I ramped up my playing to a few times per week when I was able to fit it in and the muscle memory responded w/ some decent play, however, it took me an entire summer (and then some) to break 80 again. It was a glorious day when I shot 74 after bogeying the last 2 holes and took some decent change off my buddies. Shortly after that success I started researching ways to get better. I was listening to podcasts, reading books, and was driven to improve. It was about this time (approx. 3 years ago) when I found 18Strong. I’ve been a pretty regular follower of the (modified) Daily Motion routine ever since. I’ve dabbled in the Activate workout for periods as well. I keep a printout of the routine down in the TV room so when I find myself watching golf I can just get off my ass and stretch a bit.

I’ve really enjoyed your podcasts and I’ve passed along your info to numerous golfers over the years when they ask what types of fitness I enjoy. Anyway, last summer my hcp was in the 3-5 range and I’m looking forward to a number of State, Regional, and US qualifiers for us older guys. Thanks for your continued encouragement and entertaining content. Keep up the good work!

I TELL EVERYONE ABOUT 18STRONG

Thanks for your video message. That made my day. Very cool of you to do that. I was talking to Cordie Walker, who I believe may have interviewed you for one of his golf podcasts, after our round last summer. When I told him what I was looking for... basically a golf centric workout program, he didn’t hesitate and told me 18Strong.

I “enjoy” getting up early and working out, but just running on a treadmill and riding a bike (great for cardio of course) don’t make you any better at golf.

I joke with my peloton friends now about that. “When was the last time you played in a golf tournament and a bike race broke out.”

Golf is my passion, and as a 45 year old, I want to maintain and improve, and it’s been clear to me that fitness and particularly strength are critical in playing well and the GBB along with the overspeed training has improved my power and control. While I still hit some poor shots, it is never because my body can’t execute. It’s just because golf is hard.

I’ve felt great swinging the club during some winter golf trips while playing multiple days of 36 holes in a row which in past years has taken its toll by the last couple of rounds. Anyway, thanks for all you do. I tell everyone I know about you guys. Let me know if you’re ever doing any work in Minnesota and I’ll make it a point to find you. Cheers!

I LOOK FORWARD TO MY WORKOUT EVERYDAY

I love the micro workouts. I have been doing the blueprint workouts sporadically but I like the micro workouts better. I look forward to doing a workout almost every day. I feel as if I am getting a full body workout every time.

Since mid December I have been on a regular workout schedule and since purchasing the micro workouts I have been on a 3 day on and 1 day off schedule. I am 70 years old and I haven't felt this strong and flexible in many years.

I'm very anxious for the new golf season to start, but I have to wait a few months since I live north of Boston.

40 Day FORGE Challenge Complete

I started on Jan 15th but lapsed after week or so with other commitments that came up. I restarted Mon JAN 29th and haven't missed a day. I think it is a really good program - I liked it immediately as a lot of the points I had been doing anyway.

I had been doing cold shower once a week but have had one every day since JAN 29th - it is clever to include this, as it is a real commitment and is motivating.

I keep a golf club by my desk anyway and take practice swings and have that it helps me think less about the backswing when I play. I added the 15 swings in the opposite direction.

I keep in shape and had been doing GYM twice per week and run with sprints once a week and so with playing golf weekly only a few more days to add activity to. I cycle also and easy to do 40 mins zone 2 spin.

I do mobility every mornig as routine to help my back and stretch (guided veyr much by KELLY STARRETT (build to move, book) so that EFD was catered for. I got 8k steps every day also.

I drink water in the morning as routine. I had been using the HEADSPACE APP for meditation but now I just sit still and carry out.

The no alcohol was probably the hardest but i only had a few social occasions when I was out and i was able to go for non-alcoholic beer ot stay on track. similarly nutrition - i already have good routine. The hardest part was the weekends to avoid a lapse into desserts or other treats that are around - but was fine there.

Anyway - great program. I enjoyed it. Good work on the PODCASTS also - they are very valuable and informative.

INCREDIBLE RESULTS FORGE

I1) My challenge was to be able to do proper squats all the way down to the ankles. My knees just wouldn’t allow it.

2) It made me feel really annoyed and thought I’d never be able to use my knees properly again.

3) By committing to the FORGE, I religiously did my EFD’s and my IPA, which included strengthening of my legs. Little by little, I was able to go deeper and deeper down with my squats, without my knees hurting!!! Also adding the reps. 👍👍

ENJOYING VARIETY

Knee replacement guy here. Completed the first week of the Activate program you recommended to me. I am really enjoying the variety of movements. I was in a workout rut doing the same exorcises over and over. Some of the movements are challenging as it is hard to kneel, but I am getting around that. Other than kneeling, my knee feels good. A couple of the moves seem to put a little strain on it. Nothing super painful and seem to be getting better even though it has only been a week.

DAILY HABITS PAYING OFF

So excited, because I had a 2hrs playing lesson with my pro yesterday. Hadn’t played with him for the last 6 months..

He was very impressed by my powerful ball striking!! He said it looked much better and that he hasn’t seen me hit it so far before! Will have a Trackman test to readjust my yardages.

I'm the spitting image of the guy on the rollercoaster regarding golf, diet and fitness. I always found time for golf, but rarely made time for my diet or fitness so I've paid for these decisions in physical pain, weight gain and a struggling golf game.

I am one of the lucky ones that gets to work with Jeff in person. In a short period of time my golf game has improved due to my increased flexibility and movement.

I have a long way to go, but for the first time in a decade, I know I'm going to get there. The lower back pain that hampered my golf game is gone! Trust Jeff's plan. It is not a magical plan. It's different than all the other plans I've tried. It's different because it works! My daily life is better because I'm pain free. Trust the system and you'll love the results.

SUCCESSFULLY AVOIDING GOLF INJURIES

Hello: just wanted to drop a note to say how pleased I am so far with the training program. I purchased it a while back but until recently AND AFTER GETTING “MULTIPLE” reminders about the value of training from Kendra, I finally gave in and decided I should try the program I purchased!! LOL (at least I can blame Kendra when I am tired and sore from the training!).

I am one of the lucky ones that gets to work with Jeff in person. In a short period of time my golf game has improved due to my increased flexibility and movement.

I am 68 years of age and have played golf since high school and through my 43 year engineering career. I have just finished my 3rd full year of retirement and have not really golfed during that time due to being so busy with other family needs and hobbies. So before I got involved again with golf, I figured I should try and get back in some kind of “golf shape”! I truly want to avoid any golf injuries if at all possible.


I have been on the program for only one week but I have noticed how much better I feel and actually feel like I am a bit more mobile. I have played various sports at a fairly high level all through college so I have a fairly good feel for athletics. I like the various daily motion, warm up, mobility moves and basic body exercise moves. Thank you for your knowledge and I hope to be in better golf shape by spring and hitting and chasing that little white ball again. Now with our second home in North Carolina, I may even be hitting the links in January/February! Let’s hope!

VERY IMPRESSED

Just wanted to say that after 4 days of exercise I went to the golf course and played a round. I started hitting the ball as flush as I ever have, and straight. I am very impressed with these exercises that I had a more complete swing. A much better follow through.

BACK TO MY HIGH SCHOOL WEIGHT

I'm really happy with all the programs at 18Strong. I played on the golf team in high school and continued to play throughout the years, but started to notice as I gained weight my game suffered.

I started to gain weight in college and subsequent years and just couldn't find a way to keep it off despite my efforts with diet and exercise.

I am finally back to my high school weight, playing my best golf yet, have tons of energy and have kept the weight off for over 2 years. Thanks to 18Strong, I am the healthiest I have been in years.

VIDEOS ARE GREAT

I'm at the end of week 2 of the golf body blueprint. I love the program. The videos are great. A few new exercises that I wasn't familiar with that seem to be helping. I love that everything is laid out clearly.

ACHIEVED 2 LIFELONG GOALS

Hey Jeff, I just wanted to share that I achieved 2 lifelong goals yesterday...I shot under par for the first time, and also shot sub 70 for the first time too!!

I've been following Golf Body Blueprint for 3 weeks so far, and I have noticed significant changes to my speed and stability. My club head speed has increased by 5-10mph, and I feel much stronger in my legs, core & hips.

EASY TO FOLLOW

So far I have enjoyed my membership in 18Strong Elite. The program is easy to follow and I like the video demonstrations which help insure I am performing each exercise properly.

81MPH to 88MPH

I went from 81 mph to 88 mph with the with the yellow lightest overspeed stick in one week! I know it’s not fast compared to your biggest hitters but I’m happy!
