It’s a sunny, “314 Day” here in St. Louis (that’s our area code).
Tomorrow is our Downtown St. Patty’s Day Parade.
Monday is the “real” St. Patty’s Day.
So, we have an embarrassment of riches of activities.
My only decision is, “Where will we have the most fun?”
Not sure I can make a bad decision.
But, it got that hamster on the wheel in my head moving.
Making good decisions isn’t about having all the answers.
I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years…
And I certainly don’t have all of the answers.
Instead, it’s about:
#1 Taking the information that’s available.
#2 Combining it with your previous experience.
#3 Having the confidence to move forward.
Things change fast in our world.
If you wait until you have 100% of the information, you’ll be waiting forever.
Which leads to missed opportunities – and losing ground on your goals.
Faster decisions = more action = more learning.
It’s a feedback loop that sits at the core of any good training program.
For example…
Decision – You decide you’re going to jog at lunch today.
Action – You jog 3 miles.
Learning – You are reminded how much you hate jogging, and know you won’t stick with it.
Decision – You decide to swim instead.
Action – You swim a mile.
And so on and so on…
We tend to look at things too negatively with our fitness.
It can be messy.
But, there are no failures.
In the example above, you didn’t fail.
Instead, you learned that jogging isn’t your path to fitness – maybe swimming is.
Everyone is different.
It’s your job to use the feedback loop to find your path.
And we can help.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
