This morning, my son did not wake up on time for school, so he was in a panic so he didn’t miss his ride.
Instead of his usual excuses of “the alarm didn’t go off”, “it’s not my fault”, or “I don’t know what happened”, he took ownership.
He said, “Sorry, it’s my fault. I’ll fix it so it doesn’t happen again.”
Of course, it’ll eventually happen again, but I was proud of him for being accountable and taking ownership for his mistake.
It reminded me of a quote I read from Arnold Schwarzenegger:
“I have a rule: no complaining about a situation unless you’re prepared to do something to make it better.”
At 18STRONG, we do our best to live by that rule.
It’s easy to blame your slice on your clubs, your back pain on age, or your lack of distance on “getting old.”
But none of that fixes the problem.
If you’re serious about shooting your lowest scores in years, it’s time to stop complaining and start training.
It’s not often we can follow the example of a teenage boy, so today must be the day that you make the shift.
We’re here to help you move better, feel better, and play better.
You bring the effort.
We’ll bring the plan.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
