Today is the first day of high school tryouts for spring sports here in St. Louis.
Of course, golf is one of those sports.
And yesterday we were enjoying a few cold ones on the patio on the #1 tee after our round watching a ton of high school kids get in that last round before today’s tryout.
So, motivation was at an all-time high yesterday.
It was great.
In the golf fitness world, my role is to take jolts of motivation and quickly turn them into long-term habits that equal long-term success.
The trick is to help my golfers avoid the dreaded:
Too much. Too fast.
Hyper-Elastic Distance is a perfect example of us lunatic golfers being too gung ho.
We all want more distance.
Duh!
But, we have to do that WITHOUT the classic mistake of…
Too much. Too fast.
Now, here’s the balancing act:
- Motivation is fleeting. At some point, the motivation to NOT do the work is going to be stronger than the motivation to DO the work. So, it’s important to choose programs that align with your goals and lifestyle.
- That is a recipe for injuries. This is a marathon, so we just need to get a little bit better every day. NOT turn into Rory overnight.
We’re not going to turn our backs on a surge of motivation because it is extremely powerful to get us moving.
The trick is balancing between “too much, too fast” vs. “long-term success.”
Regardless of how easy “those other coaches/gurus” make it look, adding more distance is simple, but it’s not easy.
We’ll have our ups and downs.
We’ll have big wins.
We’ll have soul-crushing defeats.
That’s fitness.
That’s life.
We can’t always control what happens to us, but we have total control of how we respond.
To be successful, we have to get up, not give up.
We’ve taken all the guesswork out adding distance with Hyper-Elastic Distance, but it’s still 14-days for 20-mins per day.
Simple, right?
But, that’s not that easy.
As always, the choice is yours.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
PS – Through the ups and downs the past 18-ish years in the gym, the ONE constant has been change.
It’s been the most exciting part of what we do.
And when you take advantage of the new elastic training method, you WILL add distance.
If you haven’t jumped into Hyper-Elastic Distanceyet, you should grab your spot.
Everything you need to add yards right at your fingertips.
