Thinking about mobility isn’t helping.

We made it to another Friday, after what I can only assume was a productive, successful week for you.

So, all week, we’ve been talking about mobility – both in the gym and via these daily-ish emails I love writing.

Hopefully,, you’ve gotten a lot of good information.

Hopefully, and more importantly, you’re ready to take action.

BUT, BEWARE!

Please, please don’t overthink this.

Overthinking is dangerous.

Here’s why:

Thinking about doing something tricks your brain into feeling like you’re making progress.

You get that shot of dopamine, then it’s over.

(even though nothing has gotten done)

Some version of this conversation happens with my high school son weekly:

“Hey, you said you were going to take the trash out.

I notice that hasn’t been done yet.

Saying you’re going to do something is NOT doing it.”

Of course, his teenage brain never appreciates the life lesson, but he will be a better person for having been subjected to me.

One of the hardest parts about getting fit is finding the balance between thinking (researching) and taking action.

This isn’t rocket science.

Soooo many golfers have gone before us.

And showed us the way.

Hey, I get it…

For BIG, irreversible decisions in life: Take your time and do your due diligence.

For minor, reversible decisions: Act fast and adjust based on your results.

Golf and fitness both fall into the second category.

Today, stop overthinking it.

And just get to work.

STAY STRONG,

Jeff

PS – If you’re not sure where to start, then join us in the 18STRONG Membership and we’ll start you down the mobility path today.

We lay it all out for you. We show you exactly what works (no excuse to overthink that). We do it ourselves every day.

We’re all in this together – and GD it’s fun!
