Happy Thursday, my fellow golf fitness enthusiast. It feels great to be back home to see the kiddos and sleep in my own bed, but I already miss my European brethren.
For now, we’re back to business…
So yesterday, I asked the question, “What does Fitness Freedom mean to you?”
If you missed it, I define Fitness Freedom as:
The ability to pick any activity and NOT have to ask, “Can my body handle it?”
Whether it’s walking 18, a bike ride, or running an 8-mile trail race…I want to be able to say “yes” to an invitation whenever it sounds like a good time.
But again, that’s my definition.
Judging from some of the answers I got from The Crew, there are A TON of different ways to think about Fitness Freedom.
Here are a few to hopefully inspire you:
The ability to run a 1/2 marathon and swing a driver at full speed (having increased my distance well past 275 yds) knowing that my body has been conditioned and fueled properly to handle the load.
-Bob
Fitness freedom for me:
• training my bird dogs and running them in competition by walking or hunting
• riding my mountain bike for aerobics vs doing the stationary bike
• just feeling good on most days and full of energy!
-Rich
And the winner for most golf-specific answer…
Because I move everyday I never thought twice about going on a golf trip to Bandon Dunes in Oregon. NO ELECTRIC CARTS, ALL WALKING, OVER 150 HOLES IN FOUR AND A HALF DAYS. Sure we were a little fatigued but we couldn’t wait for the next day to play again.
-Gary
All great answers. All specific. All inspiring.

It can be keeping up with the kiddos.

Or, it can be walking 150 holes at one of the best courses in the world.
There’s no right or wrong answer. It just depends how you define Fitness Freedom.
