77-yr-old plays 5 rounds in 5 days in the Florida heat

Here’s an email one of our Crew, Peter, sent me almost exactly one year ago that I flashed back on this morning:

Hi Jeff, just read about the fellow who went 10 rounds in 7 days.  I just got back from Longboat Key in Fla.  5 rounds in 5 days with some heat.  All in the 80s.  I am 77.

77!

If that doesn’t get you motivated to push this week, I don’t know what will.

Here’s why I bring it up…

So, when I was just getting started in the world of golf fitness (what seems like a million years ago)…

I was solely looking at fitness through the lens of a physical therapist.

Meaning, I was trained to fix people.

Sprained ankle – do these exercises.

Bad back – do these exercises.

Post-Op ACL surgery – do these exercises.

Strengthening people to help keep them injury-free was never in our college curriculum.

It’s kinda like doctors NOT telling us that being fit and in shape is our best defense against heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, etc.

Instead, they choose to prescribe an alarming amount of pills.

(Of course, most doctors do the right thing. And there is a time for pharmaceuticals when other solutions have been exhausted.)

Now, as I’ve been on this professional journey, stories like Peter are becoming the norm.

These golfers in our Crew are doing the work to prepare themselves to stay healthy, injury-free, and play this game for as long as they want.

And that’s what I want for all of our Crew.

And that starts with getting STRONG.

And getting strong with the five movements all golfers need:

Squat – Push – Pull – Rotate – Hinge

You make those five things a part of each one of your workouts…then you’ll be the next golfer sending me an email about how many consecutive days you played loose, comfortable, injury-free rounds.

STAY STRONG,

Jeff

PS – If you want to finally whip yourself into shape to stay on the course for a LOOOONG time…you can join our Crew in the 18STRONG Membership.

You’ll get all of our training programs (all with those 5 movements).

And the world-famous Daily Motion routine (already on your calendar).
