This morning, I was playing with one of our guys at Mandatory Golf Friday, and kind of sheepishly, he “confessed” that he hadn’t lifted weights since high school.
I sometimes get that vibe from people like they’ve done something wrong if they’re not strength training 3-5 times per week.
Truth be told, we’re the weird ones.
The vast majority of golfers (and people) do not work out that much (or at all).
That’s part of what’s so great about our Crew.
While we’re not all at that level, we all strive to be the “weird ones”.
The guys who don’t want to be the fat dad (you would be surprised how many guys have used that as motivation).
The guys who don’t want to stop playing golf b/c they’re too old and their bodies have given up.
The guys who want to turn heads at the pool.
Of course, I would never shame anybody for not being shape – we’re all just trying to do our best.
So, he told me, “Yeah, I’ve always been a cardio guy.”
That’s great.
Whatever gets you up and moving is awesome.
And that’s what I told him.
We tend to look past all of the positive things we do b/c we haven’t officially reached the goal.
- We don’t have 6-pack abs yet.
- We don’t make as much money as we’d like yet.
- We don’t shoot as low as we’d like yet.
Forget all that noise.
This weekend, let’s all celebrate the good things we do but don’t ever give ourselves credit – when you really think about it today, I guarantee there are way more than you ever realized.
You’re a beast.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
