Jeff, why can’t I lose weight?

Welcome to the weekend!

Almost.

Traditionally, the weekends are a challenge if we’re trying to lose a few pounds. The opportunity to over-eat and over-indulge in the spirits is higher than during the week.

So, when we do put all of that stuff in our gullets, where does it go?

To keep things simple (as we always do), that steak dinner with drinks is sorted into three parts of your body:

  1. Burn it for fuel
  1. Use it to rebuild muscle
  1. Store it as fat for later

Our bodies need calories to keep our hearts pumping, brain functioning, and basically just to keep the lights on, so most of your dinner will be put into the “Burn It For Fuel” bucket.

Now, if you don’t exercise, and you eat and drink MORE calories than is needed to keep the lights on, those extra calories are put into the “Store As Fat For Later” bucket.

And that’s when we gain fat.

But here’s the good news:

When we strength train, our body sorts those calories differently.  During our training sessions, muscles are broken down, then have to rebuild themselves stronger over the next 24-48 hours.

Soooo, our bodies move as many calories as possible to “Use To Rebuild Muscle.”

In addition, more of your steak dinner is moved to “Burn It For Fuel” to handle the increased activity.

The net result is there are far fewer calories moved into the dreaded “Store It As Fat For Later” bucket.

AND HERE IS THE MAGIC…

When we’re burning more calories than we’re consuming, our bodies take from the “Store It As Fat For Later” bucket for energy, and that bucket gets smaller and smaller and smaller.

In other words, we lose fat.

The answer to “Jeff, why can’t I lose weight?” is because your “Store It As Fat For Later” bucket isn’t emptying.

Subject: The realization of THIS will set you free

Today, on my day off, my family day, my Saturday, a company had the nerve to show me this ad:

What if you could harness the superpowers hidden inside an ancient herb that will help you:

Burn Fat Faster (especially stubborn belly-fat)

Have Stronger, More Flexible Joints

Enhance Your Energy Levels (feel better, train harder & look better)

Maintain normal, healthy inflammatory responses

Good lord.  And I thought the media over-used sensationalism and BS.

It’s Saturday, so I want to quickly give us all a shot of, what the kids call, “real talk.”

Here’s the thing about the weight loss industry…they’re full of s***.

And it’s sooo easy to see what they’re doing.

Like buying a lottery ticket, they’ve weaponized “hope” to sell you expensive snake oil in a package with 6-pack abs on the cover.

They do that because they can’t make any money on what really works.

Simply put, when you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose fat.

And the best way to do that is to eat well and exercise.

Period.

Now, go enjoy the rest of your Saturday with the weight off your shoulders.  You’re not missing out on a big secret.  You know how to do this.

You’ve got this.
