So yesterday, we were talking about our annual 18STRONG golf outing in which we walk a pretty hilly course for 18.
It was hot, so I saw a lot of cramping.
And some fellas “illegally” had to grab a cart to finish.
But hey, this is all about fun, so do what you have to do.
Now, what I did hear from a handful of golfers who aren’t used to walking was this:
“How stiff am I going to feel tomorrow?”
VERY.
And stiff is the state of how I see the majority of golfers who first walk into the gym.
Even the guys who are clearly in shape still move like s***.
We all assume because they are fit that they are mobile.
Wrong.
John Daly’s fitness is a complete trainwreck, but that dude moves like he’s made out of rubber.
(To be fair, JD is a natural athletic freak. So, he’s an extreme example)
But, for the majority of us “garden-variety” athletes, we have to work to stay loose.
And if you’re one of those golfers who needs some mobility love, there are a few things you can do.
Here’s where I would start…
…Grease your joints.
There’s synovial fluid in your joints that we have to get to the right places.
And the best way to do that is about as simple as it gets…
MOVE!
Move your shoulders. Move your hips. Move your neck. Move your trunk….
Get the “grease” moving all around your joints – just like lubing the engine in your car.
For golfers, I can think of no better way to do that than by following the Daily Motion EFD routine in the 18STRONG Membership.
It only takes 5-8 minutes per day, and you’ll feel noticeable results in 7-10 days. And in a month, you’ll REALLY notice how loose and free your swing feels.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go hide in the back of the gym to get away from the scorching heat today.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
PS – The Daily Motion EFD mobility program is already installed on your calendar when you join the 18STRONG Membership.
Click on it, and I’ll walk you through the exact 7-ish minute routine our best golfers do every day.
I’ve said it a million times…if I could only do ONE thing to improve my game, that’s what I would do.
