Girls Scouts have crashed the supplement business

I don’t normally talk about products in our daily emails, but maybe I should because there is a lot of great stuff out there. In any event, I wanted to tell you about one that stopped me in my tracks. Yesterday, our family was getting ready for dinner – Taco Tuesday, of course.  And I heard my son making a smoothie in the blender. He’s in high school, and not the greatest eater in the world, so we highly encourage him to drink protein shakes. Otherwise, he has no chance to get to his daily intake. Once we sat down, he told me, “try this.” I kid you not, it was one of the best tasting shakes I’ve ever had. It tasted like a Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie.    “What’s in that?” I figured he added ice cream or something else unhealthy. Turns out, it was just protein powder, milk and ice put in our Ninja blender (also, highly recommend). So, he showed me the container, and it was 1stPhorm’s chocolate mint cookie whey protein.  Luckily, we have a great relationship with 1stPhorm, here in St. Louis, so we get to try a lot of stuff. And this stuff should be on the front of the website and all of their merch. Obviously, you can call it a “dessert” if you’re having it after your dinner, but I’ve been using protein powder for well over a decade because it’s almost impossible to get enough protein in our diets without over-eating. The quick rule of thumb is: For every pound of your ideal weight, you should have 1g of protein. That’s hard to do every day. I’m curious if you’re able to get to that number – would love to hear from you. And if you’ve never used protein supplements, I’ve found that it does two things for me: Helps me build muscle Helps me recover faster Again, that’s my experience.  And that of our Crew. So, that’s all I can tell you – what works for us. Alright, I’ve gotta run. Those balls in our pit are not gonna hit themselves. STAY STRONG, Jeff PS – You can buy whey protein powder just about anywhere these days, but they’re not all created equal.  I would steer clear of the big box stores. There is a reason they are so cheap. 1stPhorm certainly aren’t the cheapest, but I trust them.  I’ve been to their facility a few times, and believe me, THEY ARE INTO IT.
