What we ate as kids ain’t the same.

This morning, I had a few minutes to be mindless, so I cruised Instagram with a stupid look on my face. Yeah, nobody looks that bright aimlessly scrolling on their phone:) And I got yet another piece of the puzzle as to why the world continuously keeps packing on the pounds. I think about this a lot. You ever see pictures of people in the 60s or 70s, and the majority of them are really skinny? Pull up any picture of Woodstock in 1969. And you’ll see very few overweight concertgoers.  Today, I came across a family of nutrition graphics like this:
There are at least two words I’m not confident in their pronunciation. You ever have a PB&J on fresh Wonder Bread? It’s amazing! Or, it used to be. Now, it doesn’t even cross my wife’s mind to buy Wonder Bread. So as January has come to a close, let’s all do our best to be conscious of the stuff we’re putting into our bodies. Have a great weekend! -Jeff PS – Here’s a great exercise to become aware of what you’re actually putting into your body, not just what you think (they are NEVER the same)… Use the 1stPhorm App for the month of February to track your nutrition – don’t worry, you won’t have to weigh anything.  It’s $10 for the sole purpose of uncovering what you’re actually eating. I did it, and it surprised me – I wasn’t getting nearly enough protein. So, give it a shot for a month. And we’d love to hear about your biggest surprise.
