Aaron Rodgers ruptured Achilles

IGood morning, my fellow lean, mean, injury-prevention machine.

If you didn’t see it last night, Aaron Rodgers career with the Jets got off to a nightmare of a start.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I watched a MNF game, but I had 20 mins to myself before I had to take my daughter to practice, so I saw it all unfold live.

On his 4th play of the game, he got sacked. Got up limping a bit. Then, casually sat on the ground and waited to be helped off the field.

He knew something was wrong.

This morning, the Jets confirmed their worst fear – Rodgers is out for the season with a tear in his left Achilles tendon.

You hate to see something happen to such a great athlete – or anyone, for that matter.

I’ve seen many a ruptured Achilles going back to my physical therapy clinic days, and you wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Yet, it confirms what we’ve been talking about for years…the majority of severe injuries are not to the muscles. Most injuries happen to joints.

This is why we continually stress that golfers who lack strength and mobility are in a “when, not if” situation when it comes to injuries.

The simplest way to keep your joints safe?

Move them!

Of course, you want to not only grease up your joints by moving them everyday (like our Daily Motion routine in the 18STRONG Membership), but strengthening the muscles around them gives them an added Kevlar vest.

If you want to do everything you can to avoid the worst happening to your joints, then I would check out the 18STRONG Membership. Each program has a strength and mobility component built in – THAT’s how important it is for golfers.
