Happy Ryder Cup Day! In the event you’re recording it for later viewing, I’m going to keep the morning and current scores to myself.
So, I was lucky enough to have Zach Johnson on the podcast a few years ago – couldn’t be a nicer guy. AND growing up in Iowa, he’s a Cardinals fan, so I became an even bigger fan of his.
One of the things that stood out in our conversation is how he told me he was never a big hitter (relatively speaking, of course:)
BUT, you get him within 150, and he throws absolute darts at the green. Excuse me, he throws absolute darts at the pin.
My kneejerk thought was, “Yeah, a big part of why he retired is that he can’t compete with the distance these young bucks are putting up.”
But then it dawned on me…that is total BS.
As time goes on, we’re all going to lose distance. It’s just a fact for our 45+ crowd. Rory will hit the ball a country mile in his 70s, but not like he’s striking it today.
The thing is that ZJ’s game is going to be tough to beat until the day he hangs it up. He made a living doing the fundamentals at the highest level.
The simple things over and over and over.
Approaches. Chipping. Putting…the guy is a master.
He will never play “old man” golf.
Now, golf fitness is our specialty, so what about Zach Johnson’s fitness regimen?
Again, he does the simple things over and over again.
Squats. Pushes. Pulls. Rotations. Hinges.
And that simplicity is exactly what you’ll find in our newly re-released Activate program.
It’s for the 45+ golfer who wants to play for a very long time. Who is just getting started again. And is self-motivated.
You can check it out here.
Alright, I’m going to catch the end of the afternoon session – we’ll discuss later.
Your #1 Fan,
Jeff Pelizzaro
PS – Just a friendly reminder that the Activate “IPO” is now $67 vs $97 for a limited time if you’re ready to get the party started.
