I was at the local tavern yesterday afternoon enjoying some yuletide suds with a few soccer buddies…
One of whom played golf with John Daly earlier this year.
And according to my buddy Aaron, Mr. Daly is 100% as advertised.
From the time he met up with him for their 2p tee time, until he tapped out around 11p, John Daly continually consumed an alarming amount of booze and darts (cigarettes).
At one point in the night, he called Donald Trump, who actually answered.
And told him he would be his Vice President.
True story.
John Daly’s game?
Not as long as he once was.
Is unbelievable around the greens.
But is starting to show some gaps…
…as he shot a 68.
Of course, I threw my name in the hat to play the next time he’s in St. Louis.
Rule #1: Don’t even think about trying to go beer-for-beer with a professional like JD. Not sure I’d make it to the turn.
Okay, so speaking of gaps…
Last week, we talked about how supplements are built to fill in the nutrition gaps we have.
If building muscle is your current focus, I’ll bet you’re not getting enough protein.
If avoiding seasonal sickness is your current focus, I’ll bet you’re not getting enough Vitamin D during these winter months.
If improved brain function is your current focus, I’ll be you’re not getting enough EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids).
Which leads to the obvious question…
Where do I start?
Pretend you’re back in college.
Start with your general education, then start to specialize as you get into your major.
In other words, start with your foundational supplements, then you can progress to specialty supplements.
We know our own bodies more than anyone, so it’s up to us to listen to our bodies.
I have tried every supplement under the sun to reign in my ADHD, but nothing has worked.
So, I’m still stuck taking Adderall on work days.
I hate having to take a pharmaceutical pill, but my productivity gap is too wide for me to not take it.
Point is, our bodies will tell us what is filling the gaps. And what isn’t.
As far as foundational supplements go, I’m a big fan of the Micro Factor from 1stPhorm.
I’ve been consistently taking it for the past two months.
And what I notice more than anything is my energy level is consistently higher.
I have way fewer days when I work out and I’m “not feeling it”.
So, my workouts are better.
My results are better.
And the flywheel keeps spinning.
Alright, I’ve gotta run – I’ve stupidly committed to a marathon in April, so I’m gonna hit the exercise bike for a little HIIT training.
Hit ‘em straight,
Ryan
PS – If you’re already taking a daily nutrient supplement you trust, that is awesome. And, if for some reason you haven’t jumped on board yet, I highly recommend you get your feet wet with Micro Factor.
I’m a big fan.
